Hmm, what to blog about today? Today I'm thinking on sailing. Har. Had I been born in another time I would have gone to sea.
I've had a number of ideas that I'd like to work into a book lately. Sometimes I'll just think of a little phrase of description, a bit of dialogue or a weird analogy or similie such as "swarming like germans to a david hasselholf autograph session" It seems like I never find the time to sit down and write when I'm home. I lose tons of what seemed like good ideas as well for the lack of a means of capturing it right then. Now that the weather is getting better I prefer to be outside and doing something. I may have to get one of those small digital recorders and start capturing my thoughts regardless of where I am. That way, when they find my body and play it back, how far my maddness had progressed will be captured for prosperity.
spinners
No not petite women. Those cool new wheels you see on banged up cars! I love them. Actually I love the ideas which I attach to them. I have a bit of a sick desire to see sensible people utterly offended by a rebellious statements of individuality. Spinners say "F_ck you ya corporate sellout" with each glint of the sunlight as their blades swirl at a stop light. Spinners represent creativity, genius in marketing and a disdain for guidance counselors. I think those wheels mock the leaders of corporations who buy umbrella holders for thousands of dollars only to later be caught in accounting scandals. They are the anti-cool, harbingers of the apocalypse for the beautiful people, striking fear into those who value politics more than productivity. Spinners also show that the human spirit cannot be crushed and I have the audacity to tell you that with moving parts that serve no function other than to distract you as you drive. The weird thing is that I don't think too many of these ideas are shared by those who buy and equip their vehicles with them. Unfortunately I think they intend to propel themselves from a image of poorness to an image of wealth. Envy and pride blind them to a perception that bling bling alone makes them rich. What makes them rich is the courage it takes to put wheels before bodywork. More thoughts on this later...
